Gli Huun-Huur-Tu sono stati definiti dal New York Times “un miracolo musicale” e il Newsweek ha descritto il loro cantante Khovalyg “il Pavarotti del canto laringeo”! Persino il mitico Frank Zappa li volle al suo fianco in un rarissimo bootleg “Salad Party ‘93”. Il gruppo proviene da Tuva, regione della Siberia al confine con la Mongolia, incastonata nel cuore delle steppe dell’Asia Centrale. Con questo quartetto vivremo uno straordinario incontro con una tradizione etnica a noi lontana, ma di un estremo fascino e di enorme pregio nell’ambito della musica popolare, che da anni affascina le più prestigiose platee del mondo. Gli Huun-Huur-Tu ci portano ad incontrare quelle sonorità trasmesse da singolari strumenti a corda e percussivi, ma soprattutto da una vocalità misteriosa per i nostri canoni d’ascolto, con canti rituali che sviluppano il suono laringeo, tipico delle antiche tradizioni sciamaniche asiatiche.
The Huun-Huur-Tu were described by the New York Times as “a musical miracle” and Newsweek described their singer Khovalyg as ‘the Pavarotti of throat singing”! Even the legendary musician Frank Zappa wanted them at his side in a very rare bootleg “Salad Party ’93”. The group comes from Tuva, a region of Siberia bordering Mongolia, nestled in the heart of the Central Asia steppes. With this quartet we will experience an extraordinary encounter with an ethnic tradition that is far away from us, but of extreme fascination and enormous value in the sphere of popular music, which has fascinated the most prestigious audiences in the world. The Huun-Huur-Tu take us to know the sounds of ancient string and percussive instruments, but above all a mysterious vocality for our listening canons, with ritual songs that develop the throat singing, typical of the ancient Asian shamanic traditions.
Huun-Huur-Tu wurden von der New York Times als “ein musikalisches Wunder” beschrieben und Newsweek bezeichnete ihren Sänger Khovalyg als “den Pavarotti des Kehlkopfgesangs”! Selbst der legendäre Frank Zappa wollte sie in einem sehr seltenen Bootleg “Salad Party ’93” an seiner Seite haben. Die Gruppe kommt aus Tuva, einer Region in Sibirien, die an die Mongolei grenzt und mitten in den Steppen Zentralasiens liegt. Mit diesem Quartett erleben wir eine außergewöhnliche Begegnung mit einer ethnischen Tradition, die weit weg von uns ist, aber von extremer Faszination und enormem Wert in der Sphäre der populären Musik, die seit Jahren das renommierteste Publikum der Welt fasziniert. Die Huun-Huur-Tu nehmen uns mit zu einer Begegnung mit jenen Klängen, die durch einzigartige Saiten- und Schlaginstrumente vermittelt werden, aber vor allem durch eine Vokalität, die für unseren Hörkanon geheimnisvoll ist, mit rituellen Gesängen, die den für die alten asiatischen schamanischen Traditionen typischen Kehlkopfsound entwickeln.
