GradoJazz non poteva avere un evento conclusivo più clamoroso di un concerto di un mito della musica: PAOLO CONTE! Il grande artista porterà al Parco delle Rose, con una Big Orchestra di 11 elementi, il suo tour “50 Years of Azzurro”, partito nel 2018 per la celebrazione dei 50 anni di “Azzurro”, il primo brano, interpretato allora da Adriano Celentano, che ha portato Conte ad essere conosciuto in Italia e nel mondo. La tournée ha registrato sold out in tutte le date – una su tutte la magica serata alle Terme di Caracalla a Roma – anche nel 2020, dopo l’interruzione dovuta all’emergenza sanitaria, e proseguirà nel 2021 tra Europa e Italia. Non si può circoscrivere né sintetizzare in poche righe la lunga carriera e i numerosi successi dell’avvocato astigiano prestato alla musica e alla pittura. Ci ha provato il regista Giorgio Verdelli, che ha affrontato con grande passione e originalità, nel bio pic “Via con me” uscito nel 2020, l’eclettico Principe della musica italiana. «La sua storia – scrive lo scrittore e critico cinematografico Giulio Zoppello – è piena di canzoni che egli stesso definisce “pittoriche” o comunque connesse ad una dimensione cinematografica, visiva, ad un jazz che in realtà non è mai solo jazz, è anche altro, è mille atmosfere diverse, mille storie e volti narrati in capolavori che egli o altri hanno cantato. E che sovente sono diventati quasi dei secondi inni nello stivale». It’s wonderful… we dream of you, mr. Paolo Conte.
GradoJazz couldn’t have a more resounding closing event than a concert by a music legend: PAOLO CONTE! The great artist will present at Parco delle Rose, with an 11-piece Big Orchestra, his “50 Years of Azzurro” tour, which started in 2018 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Azzurro”, the first song, performed then by Adriano Celentano, that brought Conte to be known in Italy and worldwide. The tour has sold out on all dates – one of them the magical Terme di Caracalla night, in Rome – even in 2020, after the interruption due to the health emergency, and will continue in 2021 between Europe and Italy. The long career and the numerous successes of the lawyer from Asti, lent to music and painting, cannot be summed up in a few lines. Director Giorgio Verdelli has tried to do so, tackling the eclectic Prince of Italian music with great passion and originality in his bio pic “Via con me”, released in 2020. His story, writes the film critic and writer Giulio Zoppello, «is full of songs that he defines as “pictorial” or connected to a cinematographic, visual dimension, to a jazz that is never just jazz, it is also something else, a thousand different atmospheres, a thousand stories and faces narrated in masterpieces that he or other interpreters have sung. GradoJazz könnte keine sensationellere Abschlussveranstaltung haben als ein Konzert von einem Mythos der Musik: PAOLO CONTE! Der große Künstler wird im Parco delle Rose mit einem 11-köpfigen Big Orchestra seine Tournee “50 Years of Azzurro” vorstellen, die 2018 zur Feier des 50-jährigen Bestehens von “Azzurro” gestartet wurde, dem ersten Lied, das damals von Adriano Celentano interpretiert wurde und das Conte in Italien und in der Welt bekannt machte. Die Tournee ist bei allen Terminen ausverkauft – einer davon ist der magische Abend in der Terme di Caracalla in Rom – auch 2020, nach der Unterbrechung aufgrund des gesundheitlichen Notfalls, und wird 2021 zwischen Europa und Italien fortgesetzt. Die lange Karriere und die zahlreichen Erfolge des Juristen aus Asti, der sich der Musik und der Malerei verschrieben hat, lassen sich nicht in ein paar Zeilen zusammenfassen. Das hat Regisseur Giorgio Verdelli in seinem 2020 erscheinenden Bio-Pic “Via con me” versucht, der sich mit großer Leidenschaft und Originalität dem eklektischen Prinzen der italienischen Musik angenommen hat. Seine Geschichte, schreibt der Schriftsteller und Filmkritiker Giulio Zoppello, «ist voll von Liedern, die er selbst als “bildhaft” definiert oder die auf jeden Fall mit einer kinematografischen, visuellen Dimension verbunden sind, mit einem Jazz, der nie nur Jazz ist, sondern auch etwas anderes, tausend verschiedene Atmosphären, tausend Geschichten und Gesichter, die in Meisterwerken erzählt werden, die er oder andere gesungen haben. Und die oft fast zu den zweiten italienische Nationalhymnegeworden sind». It’s wonderful… we dream of you, Mr. Paolo Conte.
