“The Call Within” non è solo un album musicale ma un viaggio epico nell’invisibile mondo interiore di Tigran Hamasyan, pianista dall’età di 3 anni, che a 18 vince il primo premio al Montreux Jazz Festival e a 21 l’autorevole premio Thelonious Monk a New York, (consegnatogli da Herbie Hancock). L’artista armeno vive in un mondo interiore onirico che è per lui reale quanto quello fisico e dove il processo creativo è il mezzo per sentirsi coscienti. «Secondi indicibili di desiderio, realizzazione subliminale e per lo più gioia riempiono il corpo quando nasce un’opera d’arte, una poesia o una melodia, perché l’umanità possa scoprire cos’è invisibile: il mistero divino». L’album esplora anche le fonti d’ispirazione dell’artista, la poesia, il popolo armeno cristiano e precristiano con le sue storie e leggende, l’astrologia, la geometria, l’antica pittura armena e le incisioni rupestri, la cinematografia. Un percorso tra realtà storica e mondo immaginario e probabilmente il progetto più energico e ad alta intensità di Hamasyan.
Composed and produced by Tigran Hamasyan, his new album “The Call Within” is an epic journey into the invisible inner world of the artist who despite having a physical body is living in a dreamlike inner world which is as realistic as the physical one. The artist lives in the world where the moment of the unconscious creation is the way to feel conscious. As Tigran states: «Unutterable seconds of longing, subliminal realisation, and mostly joy fill the body as a work of art, a poem, or a melody is being born into this world for no apparent reason, but only for the humanity to discover what is invisible: the divine mystery». The album also explores the artist’s inspiration for maps from different time periods in history. It explores poetry, Christian and pre-Christian Armenian folk stories and legends, as well as astrology, geometry, ancient Armenian design, rock carvings, and cinematography. The album blends the lines between the historic reality and the imaginary world. Probably the most energetic and high-intensity album of Hamasyan’s all albums.
“The Call Within” ist nicht nur ein musikalisches Album, sondern eine epische Reise in die unsichtbare innere Welt von Tigran Hamasyan, einem Pianisten seit seinem dritten Lebensjahr, der mit 18 Jahren den ersten Preis beim Montreux Jazz Festival und mit 21 Jahren den einflussreichen Thelonious Monk Award in New York gewann, (der ihm von Herbie Hancock überreicht wurde). Der armenische Künstler lebt in einer traumhaften inneren Welt, die für ihn ebenso real ist wie die physische und in der der kreative Prozess das Mittel ist, sich bewusst zu fühlen. «Unaussprechliche Sekunden der Sehnsucht, der unterschwelligen Erkenntnis und vor allem der Freude erfüllen den Körper, wenn ein Kunstwerk, ein Gedicht oder eine Melodie geboren wird, damit die Menschheit das Unsichtbare entdecken kann: das göttliche Geheimnis». Das Album erforscht auch die Inspirationsquellen des Künstlers, die Poesie, das christliche und vorchristliche armenische Volk mit seinen Geschichten und Legenden, die Astrologie, die Geometrie, die altarmenische Malerei und Felsgravuren sowie die Kinematographie. Eine Reise zwischen historischer Realität und imaginärer Welt und wahrscheinlich Hamasyans energiegeladenstes und hochintensives Projekt.
